Base of Tongue Hamartoma - an unusual cause of airway obstruction

چکیده

Her symptoms started as mild throat discomfort and progressed over weeks to repeated choking episodes and apneic attacks during sleep. Initial consultation at a private hospital was sought by the patient where a diagnosis of a small oro pharyngeal mass was made. Patient did not seek active treatment until after 6 months when she felt difficulty in swallowing and increased attacks of sleep apnea. There was no history of any bleeding per mouth.
